Eurozone Investor Confidence Plunges

FALCON POWERS – Investor confidence in the Eurozone has plummeted sharply this month, with their confidence in both the current state of the economy and their future expectations declining amid geopolitical concerns.

The confidence index issued by the Sentix research institute fell to -7.3 points this month, compared to 0.3 points last month; this was the first negative reading since February 2022. Analysts had expected the index to decline to just -0.6 points this month.

The sub-index for confidence in current conditions fell to -32.3 points this month, compared to -26.3 points in June. The expectations index also declined to 1.5 points, down from 10 points the previous month.

According to the survey, investors are concerned about the upcoming elections in Germany, the general elections held in France on Sunday, and the US presidential election scheduled for November.
