Falcon powers – A well-informed Egyptian source revealed to “Al-Akhbar” a “situation assessment” report presented by the Egyptian General Intelligence to the Presidency, indicating the possibility that the negotiation process will remain stagnant until the upcoming US elections in October, which requires “setting scenarios based on the continuation of the war until the end of the current year”.
According to the source, the report added that “Netanyahu is betting on the American estimates of the return of former President Donald Trump to power, which gives him hope for a different treatment from the new American administration towards the war”, noting that “the problem lies in the long-term repercussions of the continued conflict, especially without guaranteeing the continuation of the military operations at a level that does not lead to regional escalation”.
While the report did not address the resilience of the resistance in the face of the continued Israeli aggression on Gaza, it “included scenarios, including the need for Egypt to increase the measures taken on the border strip, and to identify new points where aid quantities can be dropped”.
