Israel Estimates That Britain Will Announce in the Coming Days the End of Defense Export Licenses to Israel

FALCON POWERS – According to the Hebrew website “Walla,” Britain is considered a very important country for Israel regarding security imports, and the concern in the Israeli government is that other countries will follow the British government’s lead.

According to Israeli estimates, the termination of British security exports to Israel comes as a continuation of the announcement by the new Labor government last Friday about withdrawing the previous British government’s request from the International Criminal Court regarding its reservation on the issuance of international arrest warrants against the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Security Minister, Yoav Gallant, on suspicion of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity during the current war on Gaza, and after the new government’s decision to resume funding for UNRWA.

The British government has been studying the issue of security exports to Israel for some time, but the Israeli estimates indicate that after the Labor Party came to power, the decision was made to stop the security exports, and it is linked to the International Court of Justice in The Hague’s call not to provide security assistance to Israel.

“Walla” described the expected British decision as part of the “silent boycott” by Western countries in recent months, which have stopped or suspended shipments of raw materials and weapon parts for the Israeli security industries, including French companies, pushing Israel to search for alternatives in Eastern Europe, South America, and Asia. It is mentioned that the United States has suspended the sending of a ton-weight bomb shipment to Israel. A senior Israeli political official strongly criticized the British government following its decision to withdraw the request for reservations on the issuance of arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant, saying, “Israel is deeply disappointed. This is a fundamentally wrong decision, contradicts justice and truth, and undermines the right of all democratic countries to combat terrorism.”

Last March, Britain demanded that Israel allow diplomats or Red Cross staff to visit Palestinian detainees in Israel as a condition for continuing to supply Israel with weapons.
