Hezbollah Vows to Continue Military Operations Despite Communication Device Explosions

FALCON POWERS – Hezbollah confirmed on Wednesday its commitment to “continue” military operations against Israel in support of Gaza, following the simultaneous explosions of communication devices carried by its members in various regions of Lebanon, which were unprecedentedly attributed to Israel.

The simultaneous explosions of these communication devices resulted in the deaths of nine people and injured around 2,800, including hundreds of Hezbollah members, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

So far, Israel has refrained from commenting on the explosions that occurred in several strongholds of Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran, just hours after the Israeli state announced the expansion of its war objectives against the Palestinian Hamas movement in Gaza to include its northern borders with Lebanon. Since the war in Gaza began nearly a year ago, the border area between Israel and Lebanon has witnessed near-daily exchanges of gunfire between the Israeli army and Hezbollah, Hamas’s ally, leading to the displacement of tens of thousands of civilians on both sides.

A source close to Hezbollah told AFP on Tuesday that “hundreds of members” of the party were injured in the simultaneous explosion of pager-type communication devices in the southern suburbs of Beirut, southern Lebanon, and the Bekaa region in the east of the country.

Hezbollah stated in a message, “We hold the Israeli enemy fully responsible for this criminal aggression… This treacherous and criminal enemy will certainly face just retribution.”

Hezbollah reiterated on Wednesday that its units “will continue today as in all previous days their operations” to support Gaza, emphasizing that “this path is ongoing and separate from the severe reckoning that the criminal enemy must await for its massacre on Tuesday.”

Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, who was not injured in the explosions according to a source close to the party, is scheduled to deliver a speech at 5:00 PM (14:00 GMT) on Thursday regarding these events.

Meanwhile, Hamas condemned the incident, considering it “Zionist terrorist aggression.”
