Musk Offers American Voters a Million Dollars—Is This Legal?

FALCON POWERS – Questions have arisen regarding the legality of the cash incentives offered by billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk to voters in swing states who sign his petition ahead of the U.S. elections on November 5.

This petition was created by Musk’s political action committee, “America PAC,” to support Donald Trump in the presidential race.

Cash amounts are offered to voters in Pennsylvania upon signing the petition, and one randomly selected signer each day is awarded a prize of one million dollars in the swing states.

However, legal experts believe that providing money in exchange for a voter registering to vote may violate U.S. law. The petition, initiated by the American political action committee, encourages voters in six swing states—Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina—to sign a “petition in support of free speech and the right to bear arms.”

Those who successfully persuade other voters to sign receive $47 (about £36) for each individual.

Higher amounts of $100 are offered for signing or getting others to sign in Pennsylvania, a battleground state believed by both Trump’s and Harris’s campaigns to potentially determine the final winner of the race.

The American political action committee states that signing the petition indicates support for the First and Second Amendments of the U.S. Constitution.

Every day leading up to Election Day on November 5, a one-million-dollar prize will be randomly awarded to one of the signers in one of the seven swing states.

One attendee was surprised to receive the first “giant check” akin to a lottery prize at an event held in a town hall in Pennsylvania on October 19.
