Dutch Prime Minister Says He Will Not Attend COP29 After Attack on Israeli Football Fans

FALCON POWERS – Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof announced on Saturday that he will not participate in the United Nations climate conference (COP29) to be held in Azerbaijan following the attack on Israeli football fans in Amsterdam last week.

Schoof stated on X, “I will not go to Azerbaijan in the coming days to attend the UN climate conference (COP29). Given the significant social impact of the events of last Thursday night in Amsterdam, I will remain in the Netherlands.” He noted that Climate Minister Sophie Hermans will attend the conference as planned, while he will send a climate envoy to take his place.
