A new study conducted by Forbes magazine found that all billionaires worldwide who are under the age of 30 have inherited their wealth from their parents or grandparents and did not create it themselves.
According to the research, the number of billionaires now is higher than ever, with a total of 2,781 billionaires, and this number is expected to increase in the coming years.
The study also revealed that more than 1,000 wealthy individuals are expected to transfer over $5.2 trillion to their heirs in the next two decades.
The research found that there are 15 billionaires who are 30 years old or younger, but none of them were able to build their own fortunes, instead inheriting them from their parents or grandparents.
Among those individuals are Irish brothers Feroze Mistri (27 years old) and Zahan (25 years old), each owning an estimated $4.9 billion from their stakes in Tata Sons, which owns car brands including Jaguar and Land Rover. They inherited their 4.6% stakes in the company in 2022 after the death of their father, Cyrus Mistri, who passed away less than three months after the death of their grandfather, Pallonji.
On the other hand, the children of Leonardo Del Vecchio, the founder of luxury eyewear company Luxottica, became billionaires after his death in 2022. Leonardo Maria (28 years old), Luca (22 years old), and Clemente Del Vecchio (19 years old) inherited a 12.5% stake in the company, with each of them owning a fortune of approximately $4.7 billion.
The world’s youngest billionaire, however, is Olivia Voigt (19 years old), whose fortune amounts to $1.1 billion thanks to her 3.1% stake in WEG Industries, a Brazilian company that produces electrical equipment and was co-founded by her late grandfather, Werner Ricardo, who passed away in 2016.
