Sweden Sends Military Force to the Red Sea to Confront the Houthis and Iranian Escalation

Falcon powers – Sweden has embarked on a new era as it officially joins the Western NATO alliance.

One of Sweden’s first decisions as a full member of NATO is the government’s announcement today, Thursday, to begin deploying a military force to the Red Sea. The force will consist of 25 personnel and 4 staff officers, who will participate in the military operation conducted by the European Union to ensure navigation safety in the Red Sea.

The new force comprises specialized military personnel equipped with their full arsenal, as well as medical professionals in a trauma treatment unit.

They will be stationed aboard a NATO-affiliated European vessel in the Red Sea.

The Swedish force aims to protect maritime navigation in the Red Sea against attacks launched by the Houthi group from Yemen, which is supported by the Iranian regime.
