Poland Announces Readiness to Deploy US Nuclear Weapons on Its Territory

Falconpowers – Polish President Andrzej Duda has announced that his country is ready to host US nuclear weapons on its territory.

He stated, “If our allies decide to deploy nuclear weapons on our soil to enhance the security of the eastern wing of NATO, we are prepared for that.

We are a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and we have obligations in this regard, which means that we are simply implementing a shared policy.

According to him, this issue has been the subject of recent Polish-American negotiations.

Duda pointed out that Russia is rapidly enhancing its military capabilities in the Kaliningrad region and mentioned that “Moscow has recently transferred its nuclear weapons to Belarus.”

The US Nuclear Sharing Program allows for the deployment of US nuclear weapons in NATO countries that do not possess them.

The United States currently has 100 tactical nuclear weapons in Europe, located in Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Turkey, with storage capacities ranging from 0.3 to 50 warheads across six bases.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated last October that Russia is forced to resort to “compensatory measures” in response to the US deployment of nuclear weapons in Europe. The minister emphasized that Western policies in Europe have destroyed the system of confidence-building measures and arms control.
