Jimmy Åkesson: Israeli settlers have the right to life, and our country is open to them at any time!

FALCON POWERS – In a serious leak from a Swedish official considered one of the most instigators against Arabs and Muslims in Sweden, Jimmy Åkesson, leader of the “Sweden Democrats” party, said that Israel is an oasis of freedoms in the Middle East, and its people are civilized and strong. We are proud to support Israel in all international forums. As for the settlers who do not feel safe due to Palestinian terrorism and violence, Sweden welcomes them and offers them special treatment if they seek asylum in our country, Sweden.

Israeli journalist Carm Ghilad reported these statements to the Israeli media, which were made by the Swedish official during one of his meetings with members of the Knesset. These meetings took place twice, one of which was at the beginning of the war on Gaza on October 25, 2023, and the second in an unnamed European country. The remarks were in response to Israeli settlers preferring to seek refuge in Portugal as a safe and easily accessible European country.

Ghilad also explained that many messages were reaching them from Sweden, whether from Åkesson or other sympathizers and supporters of the Israeli crisis that followed what the journalist referred to as the massacre committed by Hamas on October 7th last year, according to his claim.

On the other hand, these Swedish media signals arrive at a time when Åkesson, whom immigrants living in Sweden consider “extremist,” is fighting especially against asylum issues, particularly regarding Arabs coming from Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Sudan. Immigrants in Sweden are often unfairly blamed for violence and gangs. Experts believe that Sweden’s current approach in supporting Israel and the issues that have caused controversy and uproar in the Arab and Islamic world, such as burning the Quran, has had a negative impact on Sweden’s overall image and its soft diplomacy that it has practiced for decades regarding human rights issues.
