Falcon powers – Approximately 30 soldiers in the Israeli occupation army’s reserve forces, belonging to the Paratroopers Brigade, have refused orders to prepare for a military operation in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, according to Israeli Channel 12 on Sunday, citing their “inability to continue fighting” as the reason.
According to the report, 30 soldiers from the reserve Paratroopers company attached to the regular Paratroopers Brigade received orders to prepare for an operation in Rafah. It stated that the soldiers refused the readiness orders and informed their commanders that they would not join their unit because they “were no longer capable of doing so.”
The channel reported that “military leaders do not intend to force reserve personnel” to participate in the operation, adding that their non-participation “will not lead to an operational gap.” However, the report indicated that this highlights the “state of depletion” experienced by the reserve forces after months of fighting.
The company commander responded to dozens of messages from his soldiers expressing their unwillingness to participate in the military operation in Rafah, claiming that he did not do so because he enjoys war, but rather “because it is necessary to do so while my brothers and sisters are held captive and because we are fighting the second war of the State of Israel. And the matter will remain painful and difficult.” He added that “the battle formation is very weak.”
