FALCON POWERS – The Palestinian Authority has reportedly rejected an offer presented by the United States and Israel to take control of the Rafah crossing, which is currently under Israeli occupation. This was reported by Israeli television.
According to Israeli Channel 12 analyst Ehud Yaari, citing an unnamed Palestinian source, President Mahmoud Abbas rejected the US-Israeli offer regarding the return of Palestinian security forces to manage the Rafah crossing.
Abbas stated that he is not prepared to send security forces as long as the fighting in the Gaza Strip continues and there are no prospects for a ceasefire agreement, according to the Hebrew channel.
The source also mentioned that Palestinian officials made it clear to the Americans that they would not be able to assume control of the crossing on the Palestinian side as long as there are no understandings with Hamas leaders.
