ALASSAD Discusses with Bin Salman Ways to Enhance Relations Between Syria and Saudi Arabia

FALCON POWERS – President Bashar Al-Assad of Syria discussed with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, ways to enhance relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the 33rd Arab Summit in the Bahraini capital Manama, the two sides reviewed the relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in a way that serves the two brotherly countries and peoples, and contributes to the stability of the region and the advancement of cooperation between Arab states. They also discussed a number of issues of common concern.

During the meeting, Assad stressed the need to develop mechanisms of cooperation and coordination between Arab countries, noting the role of Saudi Arabia in this field.

For his part, Bin Salman emphasized the need to strengthen dialogue between the two countries, noting the importance of Syria’s strong return as an interest for all Arabs.

The meeting was attended by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Minister of Energy, Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Minister of State and member of the Council of Ministers, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Minister of Interior, Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Minister of the National Guard, and Advisor to the Saudi National Security Council Musaad bin Mohammed Al-Aiban.

The 33rd Arab Summit began today, Thursday, in the Bahraini capital Manama, with the participation of a number of Arab leaders and foreign guests. The summit will discuss formulating a unified Arab position on the Palestinian issue and the rights of the Palestinian people, amid the continued war on the Gaza Strip for more than 7 months, and the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, in addition to issues related to joint Arab action in the political, economic, social, cultural and security fields.
