Biden Highlights the Importance of America’s Commitment to Israel and Ukraine

FALCON POWERS – U.S. President Joe Biden highlighted the crucial role of American support for allies around the world, including Israel, Ukraine, and the Indo-Pacific region, in a speech he gave on Saturday at the commencement ceremony of the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York. The speech, delivered to 1,036 academy graduates, was part of Biden’s campaign to spotlight his administration’s efforts to support active-duty and retired military personnel. These efforts include a bipartisan-backed law that Biden signed two years ago to help injured veterans more easily access healthcare.

Biden described the American troops as “working around the clock” to support Ukraine’s efforts to repel the ongoing Russian invasion that began two years ago, but he reaffirmed his commitment to keeping them away from the front lines.

“We stand strongly with Ukraine, and we will continue to do so,” Biden told the graduates amid a round of applause.

He also highlighted the U.S. role in thwarting Iranian missile attacks on Israel and supporting allies in the Indo-Pacific region in the face of China’s growing military influence there.

“Thanks to the U.S. Armed Forces, we do what only America can do as the indispensable nation, the sole global superpower,” Biden said.

Some protests, some of which involved violence, erupted at universities across the country due to Biden’s support for Israel’s war against the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) following the group’s attack on Israel in early October. Some students used commencement speeches at universities like Harvard and Duke to protest Biden’s actions.

Earlier this month, the Democratic President delivered a speech at the commencement ceremony of Morehouse College, which has traditionally catered to students of color and witnessed sporadic protests.
