FALCON POWERS – Sweden is no longer a high-priority target for terrorist attacks, as it was last year, according to the National Center for Terrorist Assessment, based on their recent monitoring of the situation in the first few months of the current year. The Center’s director (???) stated that Sweden is not being highlighted in terrorist propaganda.
The level of terrorist threat had been elevated in August last year after terrorist organizations like al-Qaeda and the Islamic State had specifically mentioned Sweden as a priority target, following the recent Quran burning incidents.
Sweden has witnessed two major events recently – the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö and concerts by American singer Taylor Swift in Stockholm. However, these events have not been the focus of terrorist propaganda, according to the director of the National Center for Terrorist Assessment, who said the focus is now on major events in other European capitals, such as the European Nations Championship in Germany and the Olympics in Paris.
The National Center for Terrorist Assessment studies the terrorist threat against Sweden, with analysts from the Security Police, Intelligence Service, and Defense Research Institute participating.
