“Destroy them”.. Controversy sparked by Nikki Haley’s message written on artillery shells for the bombardment of Gaza

Falcon powers – The former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley visited military sites in Israel near the northern border with Lebanon on Tuesday, where she signed her name on an artillery shell with the message “Destroy them. America always loves Israel” along with a heart symbol.

The visit to Haley was organized by Knesset member and former Israeli ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon, who posted the photo on X (formerly Twitter) saying: “This is what my friend, the former UN Ambassador, Nikki Haley, wrote on a shell during a visit to an artillery site on the northern border today.”

In her own post, Haley said the shell she wrote on was intended for Hamas.

However, the image sparked widespread anger on social media, with some Israeli left-wing groups describing it as “disgusting” and “demonic”, especially as this visit came after Israel’s deadly airstrikes on a Palestinian refugee camp in Rafah over the weekend, which killed around 45 people and sparked international shock, condemnation and calls for Israel to abide by the International Court of Justice’s decision and cease fire.
