Falcon powers – Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said that the path to a resolution in Ukraine is arduous and must involve a return to a state that is “morally acceptable not only for Ukraine, but also for the rest of the world.”
This came during a meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his Philippine counterpart, which was described as the “first in the history of bilateral relations between the two countries.”
According to the Philippine news agency GMA, Zelenskyy met with Marcos at the Malacañan Palace, and during the meeting, the former announced the opening of a Ukrainian embassy in the Philippines this year, and thanked Manila for “participating in the peaceful steps” proposed by Kyiv.
In response, Marcos said that the Philippines is “very keen to continue assisting Ukraine” through multilateral platforms such as the United Nations and the European Union “to achieve peace in the face of the ongoing conflict.”
He added, “We will continue to do everything in our power to promote peace, stop the hostilities, and reach a political solution in your country.
I believe everyone realizes that saying is easier than doing, and the path back will be arduous to a state that is morally acceptable not only for Ukraine, but also for the rest of the world.”
