Verbal clash between Netanyahu and Ben Gvir… and a hint at a “lie detector”

FALCON POWERS – The ruling Likud party in Israel, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, hinted on Wednesday that National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir is leaking secret conversations from the Cabinet, while the Jewish Power party led by Ben Gvir called for subjecting Netanyahu to a lie detector test.

According to The Times of Israel, Netanyahu offered to include Ben Gvir in a limited group of cabinet members who receive security briefings (the smaller Security Cabinet), in exchange for his support for a controversial draft law regulating the appointment of municipal rabbis.

Ben Gvir is a member of the security cabinet, but not the smaller Security Cabinet that was recently disbanded, and had been complaining according to the newspaper throughout the war about being excluded from decision-making circles by the Prime Minister.

The Likud party stated that Netanyahu told Ben Gvir: “Whoever wants to be a partner in a limited security advisory team must prove that they do not leak state secrets or private conversations,” in an apparent reference to accusations that Ben Gvir has leaked closed-door discussions and recorded personal conversations during those discussions.
