Lebanon and Gaza War

Haaretz: The Israeli Army Prepares to End the Fighting in Gaza

FALCON POWERS – The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on Friday that the Israeli army wants to announce the end of the war after the Rafah operation.

The newspaper said: “While the Israeli army is preparing its forces and the public to end the fighting in Gaza in order to focus on the growing war in the north, Netanyahu is besieged in his always panicked political web of hollow slogans and malicious blame games.”

It added: “The Israeli army wants to declare the end of the war after the Rafah operation,” highlighting that the army also wants “to focus on incursion operations in Gaza and open the way for a prisoner exchange deal.”

The source indicated that the Israeli forces may request “a reduction of forces on the Philadelphi and Salah al-Din axes.”

The newspaper emphasized that “the moment of truth in the war is likely to come within a few weeks.” It explained that the leadership in the Israeli army will hold a meeting with Netanyahu to ask him to help them “achieve strategic clarity.”

This report comes at a time when the Israeli army spokesperson, Dani Hagari, stated that “it will be impossible to eliminate the Hamas movement,” after more than 8 months of the war on the Gaza Strip.

In an interview with Israeli Channel 13 on Wednesday, Hagari criticized Israeli politicians for not “proposing an alternative to the movement” in Gaza.

The spokesperson said that “talking about eliminating Hamas is throwing dust in the eyes of the Israeli public,” adding: “As long as the political level does not propose an alternative to Hamas, Hamas will remain.”
