A German passenger plane canceled its flight after human waste entered the main cabin

Falconpowers- A United Airlines plane, en route to San Francisco, was forced to turn around in mid-air and return to Frankfurt after feces from a broken toilet flowed into the cabin, filling it with a foul odor, according to the British website Daily Mail.

United Airlines Flight 59 had been flying for one hour of its 11-hour and 30-minute journey to California when the captain of the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft decided that the best course of action was to return to Germany instead of continuing to fly across the Atlantic Ocean.

FlightAware data shows that the plane circled briefly over the North Sea northeast of England while the crew assessed their options.

The technicians were unable to find an immediate solution to the problem, as the smell spread throughout the plane shortly after takeoff. Passengers reported that the contents of the waste tank overflowed and spilled into the cabin, exacerbating the situation.

The aircraft, which is only seven years old, returned to the ground in Germany after just two hours of takeoff.

In a statement issued by United, it stated, “On Friday, March 29, United Flight 59 returned to Frankfurt after a maintenance issue with one of the aircraft’s lavatories.”

The statement added, “Passengers were provided with hotel accommodations overnight in Frankfurt and were rebooked on a different flight to San Francisco the following day.” The incident occurred on the same day when a United Airlines plane, flying from San Francisco to Paris, was forced to change its course after a Boeing aircraft experienced engine problems.

Flight 990, a Boeing 777-200 aircraft, had to land at Denver International Airport after the crew reported an issue with one of the engines. The flight path of the aircraft, which was observed on the Flightradar24 website, showed it heading north towards the Canadian border before turning south towards Colorado.

United stated in a statement that the flight landed safely with all 273 passengers and a 12-member crew disembarking. Also on Friday, a United Airlines Boeing 787 aircraft had to make an emergency landing after strong winds caused injuries to passengers on board, as the pilot feared running out of fuel.
