FALCON POWERS – The Israeli Army Radio announced today, Monday, that Egyptian officials informed Mossad chief David Barnea during talks in Qatar of Cairo’s readiness to build an underground barrier on the border with Gaza, if it agrees to a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas.
The military radio, which exclusively broke the news, indicated that the construction of the underground sensor barrier around the Rafah crossing area will begin in the initial days of the ceasefire in Gaza going into effect.
Concurrently, the political correspondent of the Israeli Army Radio, Yanir Cozin, confirmed in a post on the X platform that the work on the barrier will be carried out in cooperation with the United States. The purpose of the Egyptian offer is to allay Israeli concerns about the resumption of arms transfers to Hamas through Egypt, according to the Israeli Army Radio.
It is worth noting that the Israeli negotiating delegation will continue the exchange deal negotiations with Hamas.
