FALCON POWERS – The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, announced today, Sunday, the inauguration of the reformist Masoud Beshkian as the new President of the Republic, after his victory in the early elections held in the aftermath of the death of Ibrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash.
The ceremony confirming Beshkian’s assumption of the presidency was held at the Imam Khomeini Hosseinieh in Tehran, during which Khamenei announced the inauguration of the ninth president of the republic since its founding in 1979.
Beshkian will take the constitutional oath before the Shura Council next Tuesday.
