FALCON POWERS – President Joe Biden condemned the wave of Russian missile strikes that killed at least 40 people in Ukraine, calling it a “horrific reminder of the brutality of Russia’s war.” He also pledged to strengthen Kyiv’s air defenses.
At least 190 people were injured across the country, including some in a children’s hospital in the capital Kyiv on Monday.
Russia denied on Monday that it had targeted the Kyiv hospital, claiming it was hit by shrapnel from a downed Ukrainian air defense missile, while Ukraine said it found remnants of a Russian cruise missile.
Biden’s comments came as Washington hosts a NATO summit on Tuesday through Thursday.
