Falcon powers – On Monday evening, US President Joe Biden confirmed his intention to engage in a second debate in September with his Republican challenger in the upcoming presidential election, Donald Trump, following their initial debate at the end of June, where Biden’s performance was disastrous.
In an interview with NBC Television, Biden said, “I will debate him at the time we agreed to the debate (…) in September.”
The two electoral campaigns had previously agreed to organize two debates between Biden and Trump, with the first one taking place in Atlanta in June, where Biden’s performance was widely considered a disaster.
After that debate, many questioned whether Biden would repeat the experience, amid growing demands from Democrats for him to withdraw from the presidential race.
Biden faces these calls amid doubts about his mental fitness, raised by his performance during the debate, when he struggled to complete sentences or convey a coherent idea.
