Falconpowers – On Wednesday, US President Joe Biden said that the United States will not stand idly by if Iran escalates its attacks on Israel, and that Washington may be drawn into the conflict.
In an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal, Biden said, “The Israeli military has the technology to defend itself… Iran wants to destroy Israel and wipe out the only Jewish state in the world, and we won’t allow that.”
He added, “If Iran ratchets up its attacks on Israel significantly, the United States may get drawn in – Israel is our strongest regional partner, and we won’t stand by if it’s attacked and its defenses are weakened.”
Iran has stated that its armed forces are prepared to repel any attack from Israel, with the Air Force saying it is on high alert. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has warned that “the smallest attack” from Israel will result in a “massive and harsh response,” as the region braces for a potential Israeli counterattack in retaliation for an attack launched by Iran last Saturday.
