British maritime agency: A ship hit by “unknown object” near Hodeidah, Yemen

Falcon powers – The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported early Saturday morning that it had received a report of a vessel sustaining minor damage due to an incident approximately 76 nautical miles northwest of Hodeidah, Yemen, last evening.

The British naval agency said the ship’s captain confirmed the vessel sustained minor damage after being struck by an unknown object.

It added that the ship and its crew are safe and the vessel is continuing its journey to its next destination.

The agency did not provide further details in its brief statement posted on the “X” platform, but said the authorities are investigating the matter.

The agency advised ships to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity.
