Cancellation and Postponement of Flights from and to Beirut Amid Fears of an Israeli Attack

FALCON POWERS – On Monday, flights from and to Beirut airport were canceled or postponed amid escalating tensions between Israel and the Hezbollah group after a strike on the Golan Heights occupied by Israel that left 12 children and teenagers dead.

Air France said on Monday that in view of the security situation in this destination, it would suspend flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport and Beirut on July 29 and 30.

It indicated that it is “monitoring the situation in Lebanon minute by minute.”

A Lufthansa Group spokesman said Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, and Eurowings, the group’s airlines, have decided to suspend flights to and from Beirut until August 5 amid the current developments in the Middle East. The Lebanese Middle East Airlines said on Monday that the irregularity of its flight schedules is related to insurance risks.

A rocket attack that killed 12 people on the Golan Heights occupied by Israel on Saturday has exacerbated fears of a full-scale war between Israel and the Iran-allied Hezbollah group.
