FALCON POWERS – According to Channel “12,” citing an informed source on Tuesday, the International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor, Karim Khan, would not have acted to issue arrest warrants against Israeli officials without a green light from the White House.
Channel “12” had previously reported that Israeli officials feared the ICC would issue arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials due to the war on Gaza. The Hebrew channel mentioned that Israel has obtained information suggesting that the court may issue its warrants before the end of April.
It revealed that Netanyahu’s office held an emergency meeting last Tuesday to discuss the potential arrest warrants, with the participation of the Ministers of Justice, Foreign Affairs, Strategic Affairs, and legal experts.
The Hebrew channel confirmed that Netanyahu urged British Foreign Secretary David Cameron and his German counterpart, Annelena Baerbock, during their visit to Israel, to intervene and prevent the ICC from issuing arrest warrants.
In March, the Israeli newspaper “Haaretz” wrote about these concerns, stating that the Israeli army is “preparing for a post-war battle.”
