FALCON POWERS – While the world boasts many stunning and enchanting beaches and beach cities, there are some areas that suffer from environmental and health issues, making them among the worst beaches and beach cities in the world.
According to the latest reports, as conveyed by international news websites, a company has provided a ranking of the best and worst beach cities in the world.
The criteria examined included sea temperature, wave height, proximity to quality beaches, ocean currents, hotel and restaurant quality, and romantic landmarks. The top three spots were awarded to Bali, Indonesia; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Crete, Greece. In the United States, the winners were Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Key West, Florida.
Interestingly, three of the least romantic beach destinations were in the United States. Vancouver, which is a dream for adventure and sports enthusiasts, scored low as a romantic beach destination, ranking last at number 62 on the list with a total score of 6.35.
It also had extremely poor results due to the lack of adults-only hotels and low wave height. However, the city has many romantic attractions and high-quality fine dining restaurants. Another one of these destinations is “Koh Chang Beach” in Thailand, which suffers from pollution and overcrowding.
The beach is characterized by plastic waste and debris on the shores and in the water. It is considered one of the worst beaches in the world in terms of water quality and public health.
Additionally, Goa, India, faces environmental and health problems, with the beach suffering from severe pollution, plastic waste, and solid waste, making the water unfit for swimming in some areas. Bournemouth and Shirahama tied with a total score of 6.84. Bournemouth is a famous coastal city known for its water activities and trendy restaurants. It lacks high-quality romantic attractions, but its beaches are beautiful and attract a large number of tourists.
Miami performed marginally better with a score of 6.85, but it still represents the lower end of this list. Its poor ranking as a beach destination for couples is attributed to the average quality of fine dining, weak ocean currents, and a lack of adults-only resorts.
