For the First Time Since October 8: Hezbollah Rockets Strike Haifa, Reports of Serious Injuries and Sirens Sounding in Tiberias

FALCON POWERS- The Israeli army announced on Sunday evening that it had detected the launch of 15 rockets from southern Lebanon targeting the Carmel area and the Gulf in the city of Haifa (north), marking the first such incident since October 8, 2023.

In a statement, the army said: “After sirens sounded in the Carmel and Gulf areas (in central Haifa), about 15 rocket launches were detected crossing from Lebanon.”

It clarified that “some were intercepted, while others were confirmed to have fallen in the area.”

Israel’s official broadcasting authority reported that the rockets caused material damage. While several areas surrounding Haifa experienced rocket fire and interceptions, this is the first time that the city center has been targeted, according to Anadolu Agency’s observations.

For its part, the Israeli Home Front reported that sirens were blaring in several areas west of the Sea of Galilee in the Lower Galilee.

Israeli media also reported that a rocket struck directly in a restaurant in Haifa, prompting emergency teams to rush to the scene.

Media outlets indicated that there were several serious injuries resulting from the rocket strikes.

According to a statement from the Israeli army, five rockets were detected aimed at Haifa, and the army noted attempts to intercept them, with some confirmed to have fallen in the area, while an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The statement also mentioned that 15 rockets were launched towards the Upper Galilee, with part of them intercepted and the remainder confirmed to have fallen.
