FALCON POWERS – Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz announced his resignation from the emergency government.
During a press conference this evening, he said “Our participation in the Defense Council was for a shared destiny, not a political partnership…”
Gantz stated, “The decision to leave the government is a complex and painful one.” He said, “The true victory is one that places the release of captives before political considerations – Netanyahu is preventing us from achieving victory. We are leaving the government today with a heavy heart, and it is appropriate that we move towards elections in the fall.”
Shortly after, Minister Eisenkot, who is the second Minister in Netanyahu’s Defense Council, also announced his resignation.
