Germany Bans the “Red Triangle” Displayed in Hamas’ Videos and Punishes Those Who Use It

FALCON POWERS – The majority of members of the German Bundestag (lower house of parliament) voted in favor of banning the “Red Triangle” used by the Qassam Brigades in the videos they publish to target soldiers and vehicles of the occupying forces that have penetrated the Gaza Strip.

The law prohibits the display of this logo in public places and on social media, and punishes anyone who uses it.

The German parliament approved an urgent request from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and the Social Democratic Party (SPD) to ban the use of what they called the “Hamas Triangle”.

The German government had previously issued a decision allowing the deportation of refugees simply for posting comments on social media criticizing the Israeli occupation and supporting Palestine. Burkhard Dregger, the spokesman for the Christian Democratic Union on domestic affairs, said the goal is to push the Berlin administration to prevent the use of this symbol.

He also called for expanding federal legislation to officially ban this symbol.
