Germany: We Have Delivered a Quarter of Our Patriot Systems to Ukraine, Can’t Provide More

FALCON POWERS – The German Defense Minister, Boris Pistorius, announced that Berlin cannot provide Kyiv with more Patriot air defense systems, after it has already delivered a quarter of what the country possesses.

Pistorius said in statements to journalists, ahead of a meeting of NATO defense ministers today: “We have already provided 3 Patriot systems, that is a quarter of our capabilities, and therefore there is no room to provide more than these three systems, and other partners need to provide assistance.”

Earlier this month, the head of the Situation Assessment Center at the German Defense Ministry, General Christian Freuding, did not rule out the possibility that Kyiv will use Patriot air defense systems to attack Russian aircraft over Russian airspace.

Freuding did not specify whether the weapons Germany has sent to Ukraine have actually been used against targets deep inside Russia.

Ukraine has received massive financial and military assistance from Western countries, led by the United States and other European countries, since the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
