Hebrew Sources: Hamas Agrees to Egyptian Proposal

Falcon powers – Yedioth Ahronoth, the Hebrew newspaper, reported that the Hamas movement has agreed to and accepted the Egyptian proposal presented to both Hamas and Israel, and has demanded reliable American guarantees.

The newspaper added that Hamas has received a promise from the United States that the temporary ceasefire will transition into a permanent ceasefire.

On the other hand, the Israeli website Walla stated that a Hamas delegation will arrive in Cairo on Saturday to provide an official response on behalf of the movement regarding the Egyptian proposal for the prisoner exchange deal.

The website also mentioned that Israeli officials are awaiting the official response and have observed indicators that suggest that Hamas will agree to implement the first stage of the deal without an official commitment from Israel to end the war.

However, Hamas will impose strict conditions regarding the number of prisoners to be released and the number of Palestinian prisoners they will demand in return.

The website stated that Hamas’ response is expected to be “yes,” but it will include extremely difficult conditions. According to an Israeli official, Hamas will not close the door to continuing negotiations but will continue to impose tough conditions.

The official stated that they are prepared to reach an agreement that will be close to their demands with a little flexibility.

Furthermore, the official emphasized that the main question, both in the past and at present, is whether the Netanyahu government wants to reach an agreement to release prisoners at the required cost.
