Iranian Foreign Minister: Israel “Will Regret” Any Attack on Iran

FALCONPOWERS – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian threatened Israel during a meeting of the United Nations Security Council, stating that it would “regret” any attack on his country.

During a session of the Security Council on the situation in the Middle East, Abdollahian said, “The legitimate self-defense measures and retaliatory actions taken by Iran have concluded. Therefore, the Israeli terrorist entity must cease any further military adventurism against our interests.”

He added, “If the Israeli entity uses force and violates our sovereignty, the Islamic Republic of Iran will not hesitate, even for a moment, to affirm its inherent rights and respond decisively and appropriately to make the entity regret its actions.” Tehran launched an unprecedented direct attack on the Israeli state last weekend, framing it as a “legitimate defense” in response to the destruction of its consulate in Damascus on April 1, which it attributed to Israel.

The attack took place on Saturday night-Sunday morning when Tehran launched over 350 ballistic, cruise, and unmanned missiles with a total payload of 85 tons. Israel claimed to have intercepted almost all of them with the assistance of its allies, resulting in only limited damage. In response to the Iranian attack, Israel stated that it retains the “right to self-defense” and will respond to Tehran, but without revealing the timing, potential targets, or means of execution.

During the Security Council session, the Iranian minister emphasized that his country’s attack on the Israeli state was “limited and proportionate,” affirming that the Islamic Republic has demonstrated significant “restraint” thus far.
