Israel Agrees to Release Marwan Barghouti, Fatah Leader, as Part of Hamas’ Prisoner Exchange Demands

Falcon powers – Several Hebrew media outlets reported this afternoon that Tel Aviv will not reject Hamas’ demand to release the prisoner Marwan Barghouti, the prominent leader in Fatah and the second-ranking figure in Fatah after President Mahmoud Abbas.

The sources added that Israel prefers to relocate Barghouti to Gaza instead of his home in Ramallah in the West Bank. Netanyahu had refused to release Barghouti in any previous exchange deals over the past years.

However, Hamas placed his name at the top of the list of prisoners sentenced to long terms after the Al-Aqsa Intifada.
