Falcon powers – Israel is expected to be included next month on the United Nations’ blacklist of countries and organizations that harm children in conflict zones.
According to estimates, Israel’s inclusion in this list, which consists of eight countries alongside terrorist organizations such as ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and Boko Haram, will be due to its crimes in the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip.
Israeli diplomats are reportedly working “behind the scenes” to convince the United Nations not to include Israel in the blacklist prepared by Virginia Gamba, the UN envoy for children in armed conflict.
Israel managed to prevent its inclusion in the blacklist last year, although the countries and organizations on this list do not face immediate international sanctions. However, there are concerns in Israel that being included in the blacklist would be the beginning of imposing sanctions, such as boycotting Israeli companies and weapons manufacturers.
