Israeli Army Announces Precision Airstrike in Beirut, Reports Targeting Senior Hezbollah Leader

FALCON POWERS – The Israeli army announced on Monday evening that it had conducted a precision airstrike in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

Hebrew media reported that the strikes targeted the Madi neighborhood, Haret Hreik, and Bir al-Abed in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

According to Hebrew sources, the Israeli airstrike in Beirut aimed at Hezbollah’s number three leader, Ali Korki.

Media outlets reported on Saturday, September 21, that Ali Korki and Talal Hamieh were chosen to lead Hezbollah’s operations in the upcoming phase.

Israeli sources indicated that Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah appointed Ali Korki as the successor to Fouad Shukr, known as “Hajj Mohsen,” who was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike in July.

Korki previously held the position of commander of Hezbollah’s southern front, and Tel Aviv attempted to assassinate him in February 2024 by targeting his car in the city of Nabatieh, but he was not in the targeted vehicle.

Korki is considered a dominant and powerful figure in the war against Israel due to his role as the head of the southern sector, from which a large number of the party’s fighters originate.

He is regarded as the highest-ranking military commander in Hezbollah and is also a member of what is known as the “Jihad Council,” the military and security wing of Hezbollah.

Talal Hamieh serves as the commander of “Unit 910,” which is responsible for operations and external attacks for Hezbollah.

According to the U.S. Department of State, Talal Hamieh, also known as “Ismat Mizarani,” is the head of Hezbollah’s External Security Organization, which oversees cells organized worldwide.
