Israeli estimates on the end date of military operations in Rafah

Falcon powers – The Israeli broadcasting authority reported this evening estimates that the military operation in Rafah will end in two weeks.

The authority indicated that the Israeli army is considering ending the Rafah operation after two weeks, and confirmed that the leadership will decide the next step if a ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal is not reached.

The sources stated that the continued presence of detainees in the Gaza Strip and the absence of an alternative to Hamas “turns the success of phase B of our operation into a failure”, and added that “there is no party willing to enter Gaza unless Hamas is destroyed”.

The sources pointed out that the post-“phase B” plan includes “the army’s control of Nitzarim and the Rafah and Philadelphi crossings even after the end of the operations”.

The sources acknowledged that Israel’s current position is difficult, and added “our prisoners are still in Gaza and we have not succeeded in finding an alternative to Hamas.
