Israeli War Cabinet Decides to Expand Army’s Attack on Rafah

Falcon powers – Israeli media outlets reported that the war cabinet has decided to intensify the operation in Rafah, despite the threat by US President Joe Biden to suspend arms shipments to Israel if it fully penetrates Rafah.

According to the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, the war cabinet unanimously decided last night to deepen the operation in Rafah, despite President Joe Biden’s halt to arms shipments and his affirmation that he will cease supplying Israel with weapons if its operation in Rafah continues.

Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated today, Friday, that the United States has temporarily suspended the shipment of only one batch of ammunition to Israel, and there will not be a complete halt to the supply of munitions.

In a related context, Axios website suggested that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken may present a report criticizing Israel for its practices in Gaza, without accusing it of violating the conditions of not using American weapons against civilians.

Previously, Biden stated in an interview with CNN that Washington will not send weapons to Israel if it engages in a wide-scale invasion of Rafah.
