Leader: Hamas Wants Ceasefire and Genuine Agreement for Prisoner Exchange, Netanyahu Seeks War

FALCON POWERS – Khalil al-Hayya, Deputy Head of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip, stated on Friday that the movement seeks a ceasefire and a genuine agreement for the exchange of hostages and Palestinian detainees. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants the war to continue.

Al-Hayya further stated, in statements published by the movement for an interview with Al-Arabi TV, “We have not suspended or withdrawn from negotiations, and the occupation has rejected the mediators’ proposal.”

On Friday, the movement announced that Israel’s rejection of the mediators’ proposal, through the amendments it made to it, “has returned things to square one.”
