FALCON POWERS – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it shot down 110 drones launched by Ukraine during the night from Saturday to Sunday in several regions of the country, including Moscow.
In a statement posted on Telegram, the ministry reported that Russian air defense intercepted 43 drones over the southern Kursk region, where Ukrainian forces have been conducting a ground operation since August.
The ministry also confirmed the downing of 27 drones in the Lipetsk region, 18 in Oryol, and one drone in the airspace over Moscow. Additionally, it reported intercepting a total of 21 drones in the airspace of three regions: Nizhny Novgorod, Belgorod, and Bryansk.
Russia announces almost daily interceptions of drones launched by Ukraine; however, the numbers are often lower than those reported on Sunday morning.
Kyiv confirms launching drones towards Russian territory, often targeting military sites or energy facilities, stating that these attacks are in response to the aggression it has faced since the beginning of the Russian invasion in early 2022.
