McDonald’s Introduces Discounted Meals to Attract Low-Income Customers

FALCON POWERS – Fast-food chain McDonald’s plans to offer $5 meals at its U.S. restaurants to attract a larger number of customers affected by inflation to its outlets.

According to a report published by Bloomberg on Friday, the meals may include popular options like “McChicken” or the famous “Big Mac,” along with fries and a drink.

Following the report, the company’s stocks rose by 2.5% in afternoon trading. Low-income customers have largely shifted away from global fast-food chains such as McDonald’s and Starbucks, preferring to have their meals at home due to the rising cost of living. This has prompted companies to offer larger promotional deals to attract them to their outlets.

The giant company, which is significantly impacted by the behavior of low-income individuals, has witnessed a slowdown in its global sales growth for the fourth consecutive quarter. As a result, it has focused on improving its meal offerings.
