FALCON POWERS – Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Saturday that Hamas wanted Israel to fall into a trap and succeeded in doing so.
Meloni said in a press conference: “What I said before and truly believe is that it seems that Israel is jumping into a trap, because Hamas wanted it to fall into the trap, and it seems to be succeeding in this.”
Regarding the lack of condemnation of Israel and the lack of a stance on sanctions: “We must remember who started this conflict, and it is not Israel.”
She added: “What we need to do now is work to restore peace, and that is what we are doing.”
She continued: “We need dialogue and to recognize Israel’s right to be safe and the Palestinians’ right to their own state to live in safely, and this is exactly what we are doing, this is the only way.”
