Falcon powers – According to the Hebrew website Ynet, citing security sources on Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has backed down from his opposition to Fatah’s participation in managing the affairs of the Gaza Strip in the “day after” the war.
The office of the Israeli Prime Minister quickly responded to the statements of the security sources, stating that the claim about Netanyahu withdrawing his objection to Fatah’s involvement in managing Gaza in the “day after” the war is unfounded.
The Prime Minister’s Office denied the security sources’ statements, stating that “the announcement that Netanyahu has withdrawn his objection to Fatah’s participation in the day after the war has no basis in reality.”
It added that “the Prime Minister remains steadfast in his position that those who finance terrorism, support terrorism, and the culture of terrorism, including the Palestinian Authority, cannot be partners in managing Gaza in the day after Hamas’ rule.”
The office pointed out that Netanyahu has reiterated this position in Cabinet meetings, and in meetings with American officials and Israelis.
Prime Minister Netanyahu had repeatedly expressed his complete opposition to Fatah’s participation in managing the Gaza Strip in the post-war period.
Defense Minister Gallant had criticized Netanyahu, stating that “the end of the military regime is a political act, and the day after Hamas will only be achieved through the control of the Palestinian elements with international support, which will be an alternative to Hamas’ authority.”
