FALCON POWERS – Iran has showcased its long-range Shahed 10 drone at a defense exhibition in Russia, while Washington has warned Tehran against arming Moscow after reports that it will provide it with hundreds of ballistic missiles.
The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported that Tehran exhibited the most advanced drone at a technical military forum that runs from Monday to Wednesday in Patriot Park outside the Russian capital. A video clip showed the drone alongside other military equipment, with text saying “Prepare your shelters” in both Hebrew and Persian.
Iranian media reports stated that the drone has a range of 2,000 kilometers and can fly for up to 24 hours. They added that its payload can reach 300 kilograms, which is double the capacity of the previous Shahed 6 model.
In August last year, Iran published details of the Shahed 10 drone, saying it has enhanced flight range and endurance, as well as a greater payload capacity.
Iran’s display of its weapons comes as the region braces for an Iranian response threatened by Tehran against Israel after the assassination of the political bureau chief of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, in the Iranian capital on July 31.
