Falconpowers – The discussion has resurfaced again about the Iranian air defense system and its ability to repel the retaliatory strike threatened by Israel.
Over the decades, Iran has developed an arsenal of air defense weapon systems, which include:
– The “Arman” anti-ballistic missile system:
It can detect targets up to 180 km away and engage and destroy them at a distance of 120 km.
– The “Azarakhsh” low-altitude air defense system:
Capable of detecting and destroying targets at low altitudes up to 50 km.
– The “15 Khordad” air defense system:
Equipped with long-range missiles and can detect and track 6 targets, engaging with 5 other targets.
– The “Khamin 2” air defense system:
Used to detect and target drones, manned aircraft, and helicopters flying at low altitudes.
– The “Bavar 373” long-range mobile air defense system:
Capable of detecting around 300 targets, tracking 60, and engaging with 6 targets.
– The Russian “S-300” air defense system:
Capable of intercepting and destroying ballistic missiles, tracking 100 targets, and engaging with 12 targets.
Several Iranian targets have been put on the table when Israeli officials discuss the potential military response, including:
– Missile launch sites in Iran and facilities for manufacturing combat drones and weapons and ammunition depots.
– Israeli cyber-attack on Iran’s critical infrastructure, such as water and power plants, and dams.
– Cyber-attack on the offices of key ministries, such as Foreign Affairs, Defense, and the Revolutionary Guard.
– Sabotage operations carried out by Mossad networks inside Iran targeting nuclear facilities like Natanz and Fordow.
– Assassinations of senior military and political leaders, and even nuclear experts, in operations carried out by Mossad.
