FALCON POWERS – “You will be remembered as the Butcher of Gaza,” said a group of pro-Palestine supporters as they interrupted the speech of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken during his testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on the State Department’s budget and global challenges.
The group protested Blinken’s remarks, with one person holding a Palestinian flag standing up and stating: “Hind Rjeb, who was killed by Israel, was 6 years old. Blinken, you will be remembered as the Butcher of Gaza. You will be remembered as a killer of innocent Palestinians.”
As the police escorted the protester out of the room, another person raised a sign that read “War Criminal” and chanted “Blinken, you are a war criminal.”
Blinken was forced to remain silent through three protest incidents during his speech, before continuing afterwards.
The Palestinian child Hind Rjeb was 6 years old and was killed by the Israeli army after she was the sole survivor of an Israeli tank attack on the car she was fleeing in with 6 of her relatives. Her emergency phone call to the Palestinian Red Crescent, which lasted three hours, was widely published, where she said: “I’m very afraid, please come… please come and take me, will you come?”
