FALCON POWERS – Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, said that “the United Nations headquarters should be closed and erased from the face of the earth.”
The Israeli newspaper Maariv reported on Tuesday that Erdan said in an interview: “The United Nations headquarters should be closed and erased from the face of the earth.”
Erdan added, referring to the United Nations building in New York, United States: “This building may look beautiful on the outside, but it is crooked and distorted.” Meanwhile, the British Financial Times reported, citing Israeli sources, that Netanyahu’s government is considering taking retaliatory measures against UN agencies operating in Palestine in response to this, including agencies that play an important role in relief operations in the Gaza Strip.
With American support, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, leaving more than 133,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.
In disregard of the international community, Israel continues the war, ignoring the UN Security Council’s resolution to stop it immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent genocide and improve the disastrous humanitarian situation in Gaza.
