Falcon powers – Russia launched a wide-scale attack on Ukrainian energy facilities on Wednesday, employing dozens of missiles. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia conducted airstrikes on energy facilities throughout Ukraine, targeting seven regions with over 50 missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The attacks also reportedly destroyed the railway station in the city of Kherson and injured two individuals in the nearby town of Brovary, near the capital, Kyiv.
Russia continues to target Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. A major aerial assault on energy facilities occurred on April 27th, with another attack taking place a week prior.
In a social media post, Zelensky pointed out that the attacks on Wednesday occurred on the day when Ukraine commemorates the end of World War II and European countries celebrate victory.
Zelensky stated, “A massive missile attack by Putin the Nazi on the day of remembrance and victory over Nazism in World War II.” He added, “The whole world must clearly understand who he is, and the world has no right to give Nazism another chance.”
According to the national power grid operator, Ukrenergo, the facilities came under fire in the regions of Vinnytsia, Zaporizhia, Kyiv, Poltava, and Ivano-Frankivsk.
Two energy facilities in the Lutsk region, located in the far west of the country and far from the front lines of the conflict, were also targeted, according to regional governor Maxim Kutsytskyi.
